Ms. Jaelyn McDonald comes by education naturally, with parents and grandparents also in the field. Ms. McDonald is continuing to pursue her online degree in secondary science education from Chadron State College. McDonald has taken on the role of teacher for our 6th - 9th science classes, including Physical Science (9th), Earth Science (8th), and Life Science (7th), and Science 6, while continuing to work on her endorsement.
Ms. McDonald is a familiar face in the DPS hallways as she has subbed a great deal in the system during the 2022-23 school year. She is the daughter of Dr. McDonald (superintendent) and Mrs. McDonald (secondary SPED teacher), as well as playing sister to five brothers, three of whom are students in the Deshler school systems (Holden - 11th at DPS, Rigley - 8th at DLS, and Traigan - 6th at DPS).
While holding her local substitute certificate, McDonald has been working on her 7-12 natural science degree, and states that she is looking forward to being able to spend more time with family in the area throughout the school year. In her free time, McDonald likes to be with friends and family, as well as working out, reading, and being outdoors.
Welcome to your new role as our part-time science teacher and assistant junior high track coach, Ms. McDonald!
