ACT shared that
- 13% of students have scored a 27 or higher on the ACT,
- 42% scored a 22 or higher, and
- 27% scored a 17 or below.
Wondering if YOU should retake the ACT? Statistics also show that...
- 15 % who re-tested improved 3 or more points,
- 18 % who re-tested improved 2 or more points,
- 24 % who re-tested improved 1 or more point,
- 22 % earned the same score, and
- 21% had scores decrease.
All sophomores and juniors take ACT test prep at DPS, and all juniors are offered the test in the Spring Semester (required by the State). Seniors planning to enter college next fall should consider re-testing if their score isn't where they want it to be. And of course, the MAPS testing will also give a fairly accurate estimate of how you will score on the ACT, so taking it seriously, and attacking your weaker areas with IXL test prep, ACT practice tests, and academic coursework won't hurt! In fact, it could save you thousands of dollars through scholarships!
While many colleges have loosened their ACT testing minimum for admission purposes, many scholarships still require a minimum ACT score in order to be eligible to apply. An example of UNL's admission requirements are listed here:
The ACT website also answers many questions for juniors planning for college/career planning, and provides an eBook for free.
