Welcome to Mr. Wade Finley, the 24-25 DPS Interim Superintendent. Mr. Finley graduated from Palisade High School, and attended college at Wayne State University. Finley received his undergrad in Vocational Business before earning a Masters in School Counseling, and then went on to receive his Specliast Degree in School Administration.
Mr. Finley has been in education for 34 years. He was a business teacher and coach in Lawrence, Wauneta-Palisade and Plainview before becoming a secondary guidance counselor and coach in Ashland-Greenwood, Battle Creek and Wilber-Clatonia. Following teaching, Mr. Finley was a K-12 principal at Litchfield for one year before becoming their superintendent for the following five years.
Mr. Finley and his wife Lynette have been married for 34 years and have four children:
Adam sells insurance & lives in Omaha with his wife Kelsi, an elementary principal, and they have two sons: Jax & Lawrence.
Samantha is a nurse practitioner at Children's Hospital in Seattle.
Erin is in Omaha where she is in graduate school at UNO to become a counselor.
Calvin will be a junior at UNL & is a member of the Nebraska National Guard and ROTC.
When there is free time, the Finleys enjoy golfing and spending time with their family. Mr. Finley stated that he looks forward to working at Deshler Public Schools as he has "always enjoyed the small-town communities and schools where you can get to know all of the students and staff members."
