In less than a month, staff will be back in the building at Deshler Public Schools, and this year, Michaelah Weeldreyer will be the newest staff member at DPS. A graduate of Ipswich High School, who also attended Waynesboro High School (in 9th and 10th grades), Weeldreyer will be an elementary paraeducator, along with Lisa Monk and DeeAnn Petersen, for grades kindergarten through fifth grades.
Previously a teachers aide for PreK and Kindergarten during her junior and senior years of high school, Weeldreyer most recently worked at the library with youth. With a spunky seven-year old of her own and three siblings, she has plenty of experience with young children.
Weeldreyer is engaged to Tyler, who works at Reinke Manufacturing as an Electrical Engineer, with a September 1st wedding scheduled in Rapid City, SD. As the third of four children, Weeldreyer has siblings in Smithsburg, MD and Rapid City, SD, and her parents are in Summerset, SD. Her youngest brother is in the military, and lives wherever the military takes him. He enlisted into the Marines in 2018 and just ended his time with them this spring. He will be going to bootcamp for the Coast Guard this fall.
Weeldreyer enjoys doing various art projects ranging from painting and coloring to diamond painting. She is a plant enthusiast and a couponing queen. She enjoys watching people's expression when she tells them what her latest couponing adventure was and how much she saved!
She is a huge fan of Stich...and you can see that from her car and her wardrobe. Her favorite activity above all is hanging out with her family and friends.
Why DPS? Weeldreyer says that she "loves watching kids learn new things. The world is a big place with lots of things to explore and learn about."
Welcome to DPS, Ms. Weeldreyer!
