Congratulations to Ms. Grace Brinegar, who will be taking over as our kindergarten teacher this fall at DPS! Mrs. Forsgren will be moving from kindergarten to first grade, and Mrs. Kroll will enter retirement!
Ms. Brinegar has a busy couple of months ahead as she is planning to get married in April to Brandon Anderson, and will be known as "Mrs. Anderson" by fall. Brinegar states she is fortunate to have been raised in a very supportive family setting from her two brothers to her parents, Stewart and Kristen Brinegar.
Brinegar graduated from Thayer Central High School, and went on to earn her Bachelor's in Education from UNK, majoring in Early Childhood Inclusive with a Special Education minor. Students at DPS are already very familiar with Ms. Brinegar as she has done a great deal of subbing this semester in our elementary.
Ms. Brinegar has plenty of other experience with children as well, ranging from her first babysitting job to lifeguarding, private swim lessons, nannying, working at different daycares, teaching at a preschool, taking part in college field experiences, tutoring, and even student teaching at the kindergarten level. Each of these experiences helped Ms. Brinegar to know that she is going into the right field as she loves working with young children!
In her free time, Brinegar enjoys being outside, creating projects with her Cricut, watching movies, and spending time with families and friends. When asked what she is most looking forward to at DPS, Brinegar stated, "I am most excited to teach kindergarten because of the growth that happens at this level! I am excited to become a part of each student's journey and help them to grow into lifelong learners!"
