A reminder as we head into the second week of hosting school activities on our schoolwide expectations at our events for our students.

The biggest ones being SUPERVISION by our parents of their students AND students staying IN THE EVENT AREA during the performance. Students are NOT allowed to come into the school building or classrooms during home events nor remove property from the school.

Below are all expectations:

BE SAFE:
Sit in bleachers with your parents
Please keep walkways clear

BE RESPECTFUL:
Keep cell phones off or silent
Use good listening skills
Stay for entire perfromance

BE RESPONSIBLE:
Please use the restroom before the program begins
Please be on time
Limit trips in & out of event area

Labor Day weekend is busy for hundreds of FFA members at the Nebraska State Fair. Deshler FFA's Logan Schmidt is no exception. Logan represented well in the beef show and brought home a Top 5 finish in FFA showmanship! Congratulations to Logan and all Deshler FFA members who worked hard with their livestock all summer.

Enjoy your day off tomorrow! Our After School Program (ASP) begins on TUESDAY for K-12 students - and this is the first week of ineligibility. Take advantage of this to get some extra help from 3:30-5 PM on Mon-Thu.

Our afternoon class snuck out to the playground early to enjoy the beautiful weather and to eat snack. 💜

Thank you to the Deshler Lions Club for hosting the vision/hearing screening at DPS on Fri, Sep 5th. Area preschoolers are encouraged to attend (even if school is not in session on this date). Please review the letter from Nurse Theresa regarding this!

Interested in being on our electric car team?! There will be an organizational meeting IN THE SHOP at 7:30 am on THU, AUG 28TH with Coach Sam Hoops.

Everyday as part of our daily routine, we expose the students to handwriting. We use the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to help children improve letter formation, fine motor coordination and spatial awareness. This method builds confidence and aligns with reading science by developing phonemic awareness.

Have you always wondered what your students are doing when they attend our FFA range judging contests? Do you want to learn more about this awesome contest? We need your help!

Volunteers are needed to assist with event setup, registration, group leading, and scoring at area range judging contests. No prior experience is needed-- they will provide everything you need to be successful. This year, our area Range Judging Contest is being hosted in Thayer County!

2025 Contest Dates & Locations:

Area 1: Garden County – September 17
Area 2: Thomas County – September 10
Area 3: Hayes County – September 10
Area 4: Hall County – September 10
Area 5: Knox County – September 18
Area 6: Thayer County – September 17
State Contest: Keya Paha County – September 23–24

Even if you can’t make it this year, they encourage you to fill out the form and check “yes” to stay in the loop for 2026.
