To support workforce training, there is a newTallgrass Tech Scholar program with Southeast Community College in Milford. This program will see us fund 3 full-ride scholarships to the College’s Energy Generations Operations program every year through the 2030 academic year.
While you can read the full press release, I wanted to share a little background. As you know, our footprint in the state has been growing – and as we’ve evaluated our workforce across our entire enterprise – we’ve seen an increased demand for qualified operators and technicians and that some of our best Tallgrass Teammates have come from SCC’s program.
So, as we thought about labor shortages in the region – what we realized was that this scholarship program not only helps get great Nebraskans into our company – it also helps almost the entirety of our value chain in the state get qualified workers, from biofuels producers to power districts and beyond.
We’ve been working on this initiative for a while and are really excited about its long-term potential. Applications close in about a month (July 19), so please us help spread the word. Students can apply at Tallgrass.com/Tech.
