The students in Mr. Dave Staroscik's class finished their chisels. The last step was to heat treat the working end. This process is necessary to add “toughness” and “hardness” to the working end.
The students were exposed to milling machine principles and basic metallurgy.

Congratulations to junior Jacilyne Peterson on her third place pole vault finish and to senior (now graduate!) Brooke Sasse on her 7th place finish in discuss at the NSAA State Track Meet. We are so proud of you!




It was a bittersweet day with lots of tears, as we said goodbye to staff who have been at DPS anywhere from 1 to 33 years and celebrated lots of babies too. Thank you and best wishes to those leaving & congrats to Mrs. Miller on her retirement and to all of our new mamas at DPS!







The fifth and sixth graders celebrated the end of the year by playing some minute to win it games! Needless to say they are a competitive bunch!









Good luck to our state track qualifiers today and tomorrow! Thank you to our cheerleaders for the state pep rally and send off yesterday!

Our Instrumental band night for our incoming 5th graders was a success! We are excited to be adding 15 new students to our Young Dragon Band next year!

The school year is winding down and Mr. Staroscik's CNC class projects are coming to an end.
The project shown is a Machinist Hammer. The students built the hammer using the manual lathe and the CNC Milling Machine.
Using the CNC mill, students engraved their name!

The junior high track team attended the State Track Meet in Gothenburg on May 11th, and the athletes came back with several medal winners, including:
3200 M Relay: Received 2nd place with a time of 9:17, consisting of Rigley McDonald, Dean Baden, Xavier Pierce & Quincy Orme. All runners PRed their time & beat their previous record by 19 seconds!
1600 M Relay: Received 6th place and PRed as well with a time of 3:51.54. Those on the team were Rigley McDonald, Dean Baden, Jackson Beam, and Quincy Orme.
Discus: Brayden Gausman received 7th place and PRed with a throw of 134’4”.
High Jump: Teagan Webber PRed and received 9th place, jumping 4’11”.
200 M Hurdles: Teagan Webber placed 22nd with a time of 33.04.
200 M Hurdles: Jackson Beam placed 18th with a time of 29.37.
400 M Run: Quincy Orme placed 16th with a time of 57.12.
800 M Run: Rigley McDonald received 23rd with a time of 2:19.23.
The boys’ junior high team had a phenomenal year, winning every track meet they were in this year up until state! Way to go, Young Dragons!
