The first home track meet of the season was held on Thursday, March 23rd and was a twilight meet with Meridian and LN. The track and field team set 13 meet personal records, 12 season personal records, and 7 personal records. Way to go, Dragons!
Deshler Alumni Corben Jacobe was at DPS on Friday with the Flatwater Shakespeare Theatre in Lincoln. They performed a short cut of Shakespeare's Hamlet for DPS students in grades K-6th . Seven of our students volunteered to be part of the performance. Thank you, Corben!
Freshmen spent Friday, March 25th, at Connect the Dots, a career exploration day, in Beatrice. Students talked to employers, the military, and colleges in an interactive format to learn about how to make some major life decisions in the very near future!
Award winning traveling choreographer and dance teacher Kayleigh Schadwinkel-Hickman was in Deshler this week to teach choreography for the musical Annie to thirty Deshler students involved in the musical. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun!

Advanced Art students are using gouges and barens on rubber mats to create reduction block printing.
Meanwhile our English 9 students are using all of their Romeo and Juliet vocabulary in a flatter tournament.
We have some creative teachers at DPS that make learning fun!

ACTIONS Day proved we have some smart kids! We had 3 earn trophies and many finish in the top 10!
On top of this, grades 7-12 did a great job of completing 30 IXLs specific to their own diagnostics test...receiving brownies and the pin game as a reward!

Thank you to Tyler and Alisha Fangmeyer for the beef donation! The freezer is full again, and we are thankful for the community support that brought beef into our school!

Jordan LeFave, Payton Bauer, and Tasia Schardt represented Deshler at TVC Honor Band in Hastings today. Dr. Lee, Director of Fine Arts for Grand Island Public Schools, directed the 63-member band. The concert was held at the Hastings Masonic Center tonight. Congrats!
