ADVANCING ON...Way to go, Lady Dragons! With a 48-33 win over BDS, the Lady Dragons will play again tomorrow night at 6 PM in subdistricts!

DPS will be having a 10 AM start on Tue, 2/18/25, due to the cold weather. No before school activites, no breakfast, and no morning preschool on this date. WEDNESDAY: With the predicted weather, if we would have a 10 AM start on this date, we would dismiss at regular time, NOT AT 1:50 PM. If we do NOT have a late start on Wednesday, please make sure all students are picked up by 1:50 PM for our training that starts at 2 PM.

Deshler Public Schools' Rising Stars Early Childhood Advisory Meeting took place on Friday, February 14th at the Rising Stars Preschool. After attendance was taken, we reviewed enrollment for this year & the upcoming year, as well as a summary of preschool activities to date. The classes continue to use the Heggerty Phonics Curriculum, helping with letter sounds, rhyming words, blending, identifying letters, etc., and are currently on week #25. Preschool transition visits have already started happening into the Kindergarten classroom. We have our second state wrestling qualifier! Senior Holden McDonald has qualified back-to-back years for the State Wrestling Meet after battling through illness for a fourth place finish at districts! Congratulations, Holden, and good luck at STATE WRESTLING!

Deshler JH boys will not be participating in today's JH BBB tournament in Nelson due to icy road conditions.

DPS Kindergarteners are teaming up with the 4th graders to earn some AR points and work towards their goals! The 4th graders read to the Kindergarteners and then helped them take their AR tests. When they were done, the Kindergarteners showed off their reading talents by reading to the 4th graders!

Advanced Algebra and Geometry students were challenged with sequence and pattern puzzles today in class as we discussed Mathematics around the world. Students used numbers, colors, and shapes to determine the solutions to the different puzzles.

Thanks to TeamMates, the READ grant, and Linked 2 Literacy for a book vending machine at Deshler Public Schools! PARENTS watch for information about how your child can win a token to receive a free book! Reading can reduce stress, increase self-esteem, improve cognitive function, and so much more!
