Yesterday was the seniors’ last day of high school! The class practiced graduation, received their awards and even walked through the elementary in their caps and gowns. A bonus…we had some elementary students take part in our “senior” day and dress like senior citizens!

The 5th graders spent time today creating encouraging chalk messages for our friends!

Elementary track meet at Thayer Central. Sign up today if interested…early registration due by FRIDAY, MAY 13th.

Another last…the Awards Ceremony! From perfect attendance to academic and fine arts awards, we have some smart cookies at DPS!

D Club celebrated their letter winners and their seasons last night — along with the athletic awards and recognition for our student athletes and their many accomplishments this year. Way to go, Dragons!

Incoming 10th graders (enrolled in Health class) and 11-12th grade students that are interested in taking dual credit classes for the 22-23 school year will need to take the AccuPlacer on TUE, MAY 10TH. GPA, AccuPlacer & ACT scores determine eligibility for dual credit classes.

It was their last full day and a day of learning for the seniors — an etiquette lesson and meal at the Odyssey and entrepreneurship visits at What the Dickens and Small Town Famous completed their second to last day at DPS. Senior breakfast at 7:30 am tomorrow before awards!

2nd graders are learning all about plants. Today we did chlorophyll rubbings!

We are so happy that Leaah chose Deshler High as her "home away from home" her senior year as our foreign exchange student. Leaah has traveled the world, and can talk to anyone (in just about any language!)...all skills that we know will take her far in life!

NHS Induction for the 2022-2023 school year will be held on Thursday, May 10th. Our NHS students are very involved but still find time to clean up the highway, host Easter Egg Hunts and will be planting flowers at the nursing home and in front of the school on May 5th.

A select group of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders competed in Thayer Central's Math Competition Wednesday afternoon. Klarissa, Makenna, & Dallyn (6th grade) placed first in the Quiz Bowl round; and on the Individual test, Landyn (7th) placed 4th & Makenna (6th) placed 3rd. Congrats Dragons!!

The TVC Track Mt didn’t just mean JH boys’ & HS girls’ champs — it also meant lots of personal records (PRs) for our HS track team. FCA continues to award Gatorades to these athletes as they PR — great work, Dragons! Up next: meets at Sandy Creek this Fri and Districts next Thu!
