Yesterday we had the pleasure of having Miranda Isernhagen come and read to us! She read the book, "How to Catch a Leprechaun!" Those leprechauns sure are sneaky and quick! Thank you, Miranda for taking time out of your day to read. We loved having you!



The 9th graders attended Connecting the Dots at SCC today. This program is meant to help our students explore how to “connect the dots” from high school to post secondary and the workplace. This simulation gives students an up close look into some of their favorite careers!





Congratulations to Deshler Senior, Kylie for being awarded the Michele Northrup Memorial Scholarship through the TeamMates Mentoring program. Kylie has been matched with her mentor, Jane for 4 years.

The junior high quiz bowl team competed in Nelson today. There was some stiff competition with the team’s only win coming over Red Cloud.
Next Wednesday, our high school will be competing in Nelson.




Earlier this week baby goats came to visit the morning Preschool class! We enjoyed watching them run around on the playground. Thank you to Courtney, Flower and Longneck for visiting!

Junior high students are taking campus tours today at Hastings College and CCC-Hastings to learn about 2-year and 4-year college options. It’s a great day to be a Dragon!




The FFA chapter is now at $15,000 in matching funds for their greenhouse project thanks to a $7,500 grant from the Deshler Community Fund. Mary Jo Hofts is pictured here with sponsor Ron Rickstrew and some of his seniors who helped to write the grant. Thank you, DCF!

Dragon Speech Night was a success! Great job to these kids who had an outstanding season and who medaled at SEVERAL speech meets this year! Thank you to Ms. Kendall and Mrs. Degenhardt for their job preparing them to be outstanding public speakers!
